Pati's Message

Through Pati and Pals, I aim to educate people about some misunderstood and often feared animals. Every creature, no matter how small, has value to its ecosystem and deserves to be appreciated.

The unknown is what leads us to fear animals. This is something we have seen historically with the near extinction of wolves as Europeans first settled in the Americas. Only in recent history have these animals been studied deeply and seen for their value as keystone species. By understanding "scary" animals, we are able to gain a new appreciation for them and eliminate our fears.

The difficulty with this in terms of reptiles and amphibians is that they do an extra good job at hiding themselves away. They are, after all, quite small and are easy meals for many creatures. So how can we learn about things that we don't often see?

With my animals, I am able to showcase these creatures and highlight what makes them special. Getting up-close and personal with often unseen animals is great exposure to something otherwise unknown.

Our Services

  • What do our services entail?
My service is an educational experience based around animals. I do 2 hour long programs in which I present about my snakes, lizards, and amphibians. I also include supplemental materials to round out the experience. Supplemental elements include: animal bones, skulls, bird feathers, preserved bird wings, snake shed skin, animal teeth, and pinned invertebrate specimens. Supplemental elements include some only for show and some for touch and interaction. Upon contacting me via email, I send a document that goes into detail on all the components involved.
  • How much do you charge?
I charge $250 or $200 (program dependent) upfront for 2 hours of my stay. If an extended stay is requested each additional hour is $50.
  • I see you are Polish, do you do shows in Polish?
Although I am fluent in both languages, I find it difficult to explain certain things about the animals in Polish as during all my years of research I only ever learned things in English. Because of this I only offer my programs in English. I believe it would be unfair of me to advertise myself as a duel-language presenter because I would not be able to give my best performance in Polish. That being said, if asked, I can do my best to translate and explain some things in Polish during a show.
  • Can you do shows outside or does it have to be inside?
Yes, I can do programs either indoors or outdoors as requested. I do, however, prefer to do programs indoors because if outdoor temperatures rise above 80 degrees it becomes unsafe for me to bring some of my animals because high temperatures can be deadly for them. I could still do programs outdoors in high temperatures, I would just be unable to bring the more sensitive animals with me.
  • Do your snakes bite?
I have raised these animals and know how to read their body language. Every presentation begins with a safety briefing to explain to the audience the safest way to interact with the animals. These instructions ensure the animals never become stressed and minimize any bite risk. If instructions are violated and an animal is harmed somehow, it could retaliate in fear and pain, but such bites would not be harmful and can be taken care of by simple washing with soap and water. I regularly handle my animals and they are accustomed to many different sensory stimuli, and I can say with utmost certainty that they are very patient with touch and handling and a bite incident has never happened.
